Your FPH hosted our inaugural Educational Forum in February! Thirty-one First Grade Students, Parents and Teachers filled the house and grounds on a supremely beautiful day to learn about their own local heritage! Children were divided into small groups and paired with docents (all in their places with bright shining faces!) for 15 minute breakout sessions. These included a Self-Portraiture Art Session (with take-home project), Living History House Tour (where they learned how this almost 100 year old home was saved for THEM!) and Cozy Kitchen Conversations (homemade butter shaken in a jar and a lesson on the shapes used in Prairie Style architecture)...

All the students, parents and teachers enjoyed our homebaked rolls with their own handmade butter on the front porch before heading on their way!

Whether you are attending a Community Event, participating in an Open House Tour with one of our enthusiastic and knowledgable docents, or wish to reserve this special home for your own Private Gathering...

You may rest assured there will be a Warm Welcome from the moment you enter the front gate of the Foreman Prairie House!

The mission of The Prairie House Foundation is to rescue, restore and preserve for posterity the historically and architecturally significant former residence of W. T. Foreman, a banker and pharmacist who was one of Duncan's earliest and most prominent citizens. This stately home was built in 1918 and will be 100 years old next year!

Our goal is to present this most beautiful, early example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School of Architecture

as a gathering place of history and education for the benefit and enjoyment of our beloved community and welcomed visitors.

Visit. Explore. Relax. Enjoy!
